Overview

Fremont County Auxiliary Communications Services is a volunteer-based amateur radio emergency communications reserve program with operational, research, and educational components. Members are offered ongoing and technically diverse training.

Active Reservist Members

Generally willing and available to respond or assist during FCACS activations and exercises

  • AUXC Leader;
  • Radio Officer;
  • SHARES Station Point of Contact (SPOC);
  • Technical Specialist (THSP);
  • Radio Operator
  • Support Technician;
  • Message Runner
  • Stenographer (transcribe voice communications)

Auxiliary Members

Limited or no ability to respond or assist during FCACS activations and exercises

  • Radio Operator
  • Technician;
  • General Support;
  • Administrative

Basic Requirements for All Volunteers

  • meet age requirements:
    • be at least 18 years of age for Active Reservist Membership, or
    • be at least 16 years of age for Auxiliary Membership
  • be able to pass a background check
  • complete the required training program for the role(s) desired
  • have or acquire licensure or certifications for the role(s) desired
  • sign a volunteer service agreement and code of ethics
