On January 17, 2025, the first of many planned nodes was brought online to provide AREDN (Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network) services in Fremont County.  FCACS has adopted Mikrotik as its preferred brand of equipment due to its incredible reliability combined with extremely low costs.  Four more nodes are planned for deployment by the end of March, 2025.

FCACS is actively researching the most practical way to deploy AREDN (Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network) technology in Fremont County.  AREDN uses ham radio frequencies to greatly increase wireless networking range using the same fault-tolerant design as the Internet.
